Warnings of a dangerous virus threatening computers in Russia

Experts at Group-IB, an information security company, warned of the spread of a dangerous virus that threatens many computers in Russia.

According to the company's reports, a Troldesh virus, which reached more than 6000 computers in Russia in the second quarter of this year alone, almost two and a half times more than the number of devices in the same period last year.

They explained that the virus mainly infected computers belonging to Russian companies and businesses, to steal their computer data and exploit them in the objectives of unfair competition or sell them to competitors of those companies.

The virus comes to the user's computer in the form of a text message to his e-mail, which appears to be sent by an airline or from car dealerships operating in Russia such as Polar Airlines, ROLF or Novosibirsk Online.

These messages contain an electronic link. Once pressed, Troldesh starts to transmit malicious software to the user's computer and copy the computer data to the hackers.
