US state bans cigarette sales to under-21s!

Ohio has raised the legal age to buy tobacco, electronic cigarettes and everything related to smoking, from 18 to 21 years.

The ban applies to tobacco-making paper, cigarette filters, smoking liquids and other tobacco-related goods in one form or another.

The new smoking law came into force immediately after it was signed by the state governor. Ohio has allowed young people to smoke at the age of 18.

The state of Hawaii became the first US state to raise the smoking age to 21 in 2015. It later joined, according to Tobacco 21, between 2016 and 2017 in California, Oregon, New Jersey and Maine.

Since the beginning of 2019, it has also joined Connecticut, Washington, Illinois and a few other states that prohibit people from buying cigarettes for under-21s.
