The Cultural and Information Bureau of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah announced the opening of participation in the Sharjah Prize for the creativity of women in the Gulf in its second 2018 – 2019.

The prize is in support of women's creativity in the Arabian Gulf and their intellectual views on cultural and literary issues, enhancing the role of women's literature and poetry in GCC countries and enriching modern Gulf literature.

The award is based on the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, and aims to enrich the cultural life in the region with research and literary studies among those with creative literary experiences to achieve excellence and uniqueness. The future personality of society.

Saleha Gabesh, head of the cultural and media office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, stressed the importance of the prize and other similar awards in building the cultural entity in our Gulf society.

The Council's cultural and media office administers the award, provides support, and selects and supervises the members of the arbitration committees. The Award is committed to uphold the values ​​of independence, transparency and integrity during the business evaluation process for candidates for the award

The award includes several areas: "Poetry, Novel, Child Literature and Literary Studies." There are conditions for each of these areas. The general conditions that must be met in the advanced of the award are to be from the GCC countries and not less than 18 years of age, Her works, which were published during the period / 2018 – 2019 / except for literary studies, are sent as manuscripts, and the advanced works of participation are not to be awarded other prizes.
