The Israeli trial that spat at the Polish ambassador in Tel Aviv

A court in Tel Aviv on Thursday sentenced Eric Lederman, who spied on Polish ambassador to Israel Marek Magirovsky, to attack the ambassador and threaten his driver.

Last Tuesday, the ambassador was sitting in his car in Tel Aviv when he was approached by the Israeli Leiderman, 65, and "spit on him," according to police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.

Rosenfeld said police had arrested Lederman near the Polish embassy.

Meanwhile, the Polish Foreign Ministry announced that it summoned Israeli Ambassador Fuarzu, Anna Azari. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Moravetski described the attack on Ambassador B as "racist" in a tweet on Twitter.

On the other hand, Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon said: "We express our sincere sympathy to the ambassador and our shock to the attack."

The incident followed the cancellation of a planned visit to Poland by Israeli officials because of their intention to raise the issue of the return of Jewish property confiscated during the Nazi occupation of Poland, in a file considered by Waso closed.
