Qatar condemns targeted tourist bus in Egypt

Qatar expressed its condemnation and condemnation of the bombing, which targeted, on Sunday, a tourist bus in the Egyptian province of Giza, west of Cairo.

Qatar, through a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, reiterated its "firm stance on rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons."

"Qatar wishes the wounded speedy recovery," the Qatari government said in a statement.

A tourist bus carrying 28 people from South Africa was hit earlier in the day by an improvised explosive device as it passed near the Giza pyramids in front of the Grand National Museum, injuring at least 15 people.

Qatar's condemnation comes at a time when sharp differences between Doha and Cairo have intensified over the backdrop of a diplomatic crisis between the two countries following the announcement by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain on June 5, 2017, of severing diplomatic relations with Qatar.
