Russian archaeologists found fossils dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries during excavations at the Spasso-Andronicov monastery in Moscow.

The Spaso-Andronicov Monastery, which now serves as a museum of ancient Russian culture and art, has seen the discovery of an ancient treasure containing copper and silver coins, as well as a large silver piece that was auctioned in the second quarter of the 15th century, The talented, Andrey Robliow, in the monastery, knowing that he was a monk there from 1405 until 1428 when he died and was buried in the monastery.

Experts said silver was then a precious metal. So that one buys for one piece of silver meals for several days.

The other silver pieces discovered in the monastery date back to the era of Moscow's Prince Vasily III (1505-1533) and Emperor Ivan the Terrible (1530-1584), he said, adding that specialists are currently working on the restoration of coins.
