Ajax is the 34th Dutch league champion in history

Ajax Amsterdam won the Dutch first division title after finishing the season with a 4-1 win over hosts De Graafshab on Wednesday.

Ajax finished the season with 86 points, three more than PSV Eindhoven, who was only in the starting position, but was included with Ajax in the Champions League next season.

Ajax won the title for the first time since 2014, extending his record to 34 league titles and completing the local double after winning the Netherlands Cup earlier this month.

Ajax was very close to reaching the Champions League final this season, having won the semi-final at Tottenham Hotspur 1-0, but lost in a dramatic 3-2 home game.
